As we referenced during the manufacturers breakfast with US 10th District Congressman Bob Dold, we are holding an event for manufacturers and job-training institutions to partner together to address workforce development needs for the immediate and long term. The ultimate goal is to match up manufacturing companies with well-trained graduates of local academic institutions.
Attendees will include manufacturers from Wheeling, Prospect Heights, and the surrounding region, as well as elected officials and local educational representatives. The program will also include a brief video and introduction about the local economic impact of Chicago Executive Airport and how it serves Wheeling and Prospect Heights manufacturers.
Keynote speakers include Village of Wheeling President Dean Argiris and City of Prospect Heights Mayor Nick Helmer, who will discuss economic initiatives and opportunities in Wheeling and Prospect Heights. The forum also features representatives from National Louis University, District 214 Career Development, Wheeling High School, Solex College, and Harper College, who will provide information on relevant educational programming and how they are working to prepare students to meet the needs of our regional manufacturing economy.
If your company has specific employment needs that we can share ahead of time with our educational representatives, please let us know. We would love to hear from you.
